Terms of use · Effective August 10, 2026
Simple terms for a focused Mac utility.
These terms cover the Scene direct edition distributed by DZG Studio LLC outside the Mac App Store.
One purchase, no subscription
A Scene Pro purchase is a perpetual personal license for Scene 1.x on up to two personal Macs, with 12 months of updates and a 30-day refund window. The price, currency, tax, and final total shown by Lemon Squeezy at checkout control the transaction.
1. Agreement
By downloading, installing, purchasing, or using Scene, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the software. “Scene,” “we,” and “us” refer to DZG Studio LLC and the Scene direct-distribution software.
2. Scene Free
The direct edition includes Scene Free with no account and no time limit. Scene Free can hold up to four user-created saved scenes at once. Automatic safety states and the temporary onboarding practice do not consume that allowance.
At the limit, you may return to, rename, inspect, or delete existing local scenes. Deleting one frees a slot for another capture; activating Scene Pro unlocks unlimited saved scenes. Scene does not delete or upload captured work when you reach the Free limit or deactivate Pro.
3. License grant
After a completed purchase and successful activation, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the purchased Scene edition on up to two Macs that you personally own or control, unless the checkout states a different device allowance.
You may not redistribute the app or license key, sell or sublicense access, bypass licensing controls, use one personal license as a shared organizational seat, or reverse engineer the software except where applicable law expressly permits it.
4. Versions and updates
The personal-license offer includes Scene 1.x and new releases made available during the 12 months after purchase. The build and features you are licensed to use remain licensed after that period. A future major version may be a paid upgrade; buying it is optional.
Compatibility maintenance depends on changes in macOS and third-party apps. We may discontinue support for older macOS releases after reasonable notice. We do not promise that every third-party app will remain automatable indefinitely.
5. Purchase, tax, and refunds
Direct payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. The price, currency, tax, and final total displayed at checkout control the transaction. You are responsible for accurate purchase information.
You may request a refund within 30 calendar days of the original purchase by contacting [email protected] with the order email or identifier. Refund abuse, chargeback fraud, or repeated purchases and refunds may be declined where permitted by law. Any mandatory consumer rights in your jurisdiction still apply.
6. Product boundaries
Scene is a work-continuity utility, not backup, version control, disaster recovery, or a virtual machine snapshot. Specifically:
- Live Resume depends on the original app process and identifiable windows still existing.
- Resource Rebuild is best effort and supports only documented apps and resource types.
- Scene cannot generally restore unsaved third-party app memory, historical file contents, arbitrary internal selections, running terminal commands, macOS Spaces, or every full-screen layout.
- App updates or macOS changes may temporarily affect window identification or automation.
You remain responsible for saving files, maintaining backups, reviewing a rebuild preview, and verifying results before relying on restored work.
7. Your data and acceptable use
You retain ownership of your local checkpoint and workspace information. You must have the right to access any file, URL, account, or app state that you ask Scene to reopen. Do not use Scene to violate law, bypass another app’s access controls, or access another person’s device or data without authorization.
8. Disclaimer and liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Scene is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, exact restoration for unsupported apps, or recovery of unsaved work.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, DZG Studio LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, lost profit, or business interruption. Our aggregate liability relating to Scene will not exceed the amount you paid for Scene in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so those limitations may not fully apply to you.
9. Termination
You may stop using Scene at any time. We may terminate a license for material breach, fraud, unlawful use, or license redistribution. Where reasonable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to cure. Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits—will survive.
10. Changes, governing law, and contact
We may update these terms for future versions or legal requirements. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date. Changes do not convert a completed one-time purchase into a subscription.
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to DZG Studio LLC, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise. Questions may be sent to [email protected].
